Our homes have been our refuge through this pandemic. More than ever, they are the one place where we feel safe. However, as the pandemic has worn on, our sense of belonging to a wider world, to nature and community, has faded through atrophy. Our homes can sustain our health but not our spirits. Perhaps they’ve become prisons more than refuges. It’s hard not to look out in the hopes of rediscovering the world we knew. This series was photographed in different rooms of my house during the first wave of the pandemic in 2020.
